Does anyone have a clue about this very unique and "old" Allis-Chalmers" Logo-Emblem-Badge??? I found it just sitting on the ground face down. This picture isn't the best but gives the general idea. It is a "fiberous" material and is a bit "dry cracked" along the edges. Also there must have been some sort of "mount" on the back which has broke off.
It does not have the familiar A-C Diamond, rather the A and the C are ornately overlaid upon each other. The disk is about 4" in diameter and about 3/4" thick.
Any info/help would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!!!

It may have something to do with Allis that is not tractor related

They built lots of stuff... Generators for Hydoelectric dams, first hydrogen fuel cells, Rock crushers for the Panama Canal, refigerators, golf carts...
They were an amazingly innovative company from the very beginning.

Does anybody think it is worth anything to anyone???? I know I won't need to hang on to it - that's for sure. Maybe it could be of value to someones "collection"???? I'd rather it be in the hands of someone who would "really" appreciate it as opposed to me just hanging on to it because it is a cool old relic.

I am going to try and get some better pictures of it using my wifes camera. I have had a few people contact me with interest in it. I want to show the back side of it and hopefully get a better close up image(s) too.
I'll post them ASAP, probably a few days though...

I have a fairly extensive paper collection of almost everything that Allis-Chalmers built.
I have never seen that logo but would like to see a better picture.

looks like part of a overhead transformer bushing that was attached to the clamp to hold the wire in the transformer. I'll keep looking for some and see what I come up with. We go in spurts of taking them down and replacing.

I finally got some pictures with my wifes camera. I tried to show the crack min the face as much as possible and there is one of the damaged back side. I will more than likely place this item on e-bay here in the near future (as suggested). Will post info on that when available.

Try to modify it with some good emblems that kirban performance products and other brands would give to you. Other than that, try to really get things work out on your design if you want the allis chamber logo.

Just a thought. From the material and the sharp lettering and emblem, it might be a pattern used in a foundry for casting machine parts. It would be pressed into the sand in a mould to make a negative impression. Then the casting would carry a duplicate of this pattern on a visible face. I have never seen this emblem before, but considering how many types of machinery built by AC over the years it could have been used on almost anything.
