I am a Wd-45 and am having trouble keeping the throttle in one place, it wants to speed up all the time. I have used wd40 on the linkage and it does not seem to help. Is there something that I need to change as a new spring or what. It does have factory power steering on it too if that will help with the answer. Thanks for any help Dave

There should be a spring on the back side of the quadrant that applies pressure to the throttle lever to keep it in place. If this spring is broken or missing then that could be the issue.

Might be time to replace the friction block that rides on the quadrant as it may be worn out.

Both of these things mentioned were problems on the WD I am working on, plus the holes in all the rod connection joints were worn out too, causing all kinds of slop in the system.
Just check everything from the hand control to the carb, for springs and wear. Bring that back into spec should help a lot. Regards, Chris |
