This is the left rail and a shot of the bucket controls, cylinders.
Tired old machine isn't even fighting back while I unbolt parts. |

Tomorrow the cage, the controls console and the bucket yoke come off, then I will work on the cowl and cab area. Week and a half I will finish the tear down, ready the remnants for the scrapper and clean up what I have left.

Chain looks good. What did you use to lift the head from the block?
Does the machine have the 7000 DI Engine?

Head with the oil coolers was already gone, that with the mess of conversions was the determiner to making it a donor. Yeah chain is in good condition but the shoes are pretty well shot just as mine are.

That's a good looking cage on there I would be fitting the on the 7g if it were mine, I think you will still get your moneys worth out of that machine when you get down to steering clutch , axles bevel gears, final drive parts ect they aren't making any more of them and someone will need them even track frames , if you have a machine with a bent track frame they are hard to get because most send them to the scrap man, there is a dealer over here who throws nothing out and you would be surprised the parts he gets machined and rebuilt like new, also he keeps the tracks and rollers some people are just looking to get a machine running for a vintage rally and are happy to buy a worn track or roller to get them moving but if you haven't got the room to store them that's another story

Managed to get the cage off but had to use my other 7G as my 180 loader did not like it, along with the fuel tank(had 30 gallons still in it),got the dash, the loader and throttle controls out, was removing the rats nest under the seat when I found piles of bolts from the engine and welds, everything is welded, seat was, all the cross supports, anything imaginable has a bead run on it and bad ones at that! Some people should never be allowed to have machinery.
I am down due to work until the 23rd then back into the mess, will need to drag it outside once more to remove the leaves and mouse/rat leftovers on top of the final then the trans, radiator and the shovel yoke come off. Did set and inspect the bucket since off and upside down, entire bottom will need replaced as will the side panels and cutting edges, will save it for a rainy day project. |
