On my d15 I know where the hole to shoot the light is but all I can see is side of fly wheel ? Any direction as to where to find the marks ?

The marks are on the flywheel.
"F" at 25 deg. BTDC, and "CENTER" at TDC.
I like to paint the Fire mark with white paint so I can see it easy with the timing light.

Hmm looking thru that hole I can see smooth side of flywheel and the ring gear but no marks?

Carefully shove a large flat blade screwdriver in the hole while the engine is idling and hold it against the flywheel to scrape the rust off of it. Engine must be running WIDE OPEN throttle to adjust timing to the F-25 or FIRE mark. Always mark your distributor before you start changing things so you know where you exactly where you started from.

I appreciate your help I did that with screwdriver. I must be missing something I just can't see anything on the wheel. It's defintaly straight on thru the view hole on the SIDE of the flywheel?

Side of the flywheel, yes. You must have the engine wide open speed and then maybe adjust/turn the distributor back and forth to get the flywheel mark to show in the center of the hole. MARK YOUR DIST BEFORE YOU START TURNING IT BACK AND FORTH.

Thanks so much doc for walking me thru that yup just moved a little and saw the mark ! Turned it back a little first it started to studder. Turned twoards the front and it ran great. Unfortunately I'm outta gas on it now and dark outside but will get it set tomorrow. Thanks again doc

Double check that your timing light is hooked up to the sparkplug wire for cylinder #1 in the very front of the motor.

It was thanks though. Ran the damn thing right out of gas as soon as I turned that distributer forward it sounded so much better can't wait till tomorrow !

Well don't feel bad I put 40 gallons through my d17 the last two days haying. It is a real bummer when you just get going on a project like that and run out. Sounds like tomorrow you should get some good results.   Keep smiling it isn't snowing yet...
