 Topic: threshing machine grain chute

I am starting on my threshing machine project again. I used the new roller to roll the unloading augar tube. I had to roll it in two peices and will butt weld it togeher tomorrow. I was digging the the pile of parts and found what's left of the chute that goes on the end of the unloading augar. I can figure out the roll but could someone tell me the length and what it's supposed to look like on the end. All that is left of mine is the peice of 1/8 x 1 flat iron. Thanks Matt

it's a 1936 Allis Chalmers 22 inch. The unloading auger is the last peice of the puzzle. I started working on this a little over 2 years ago and getting happy that it's almost done
Here is a pic of it this past summer when I just got done mounting the blower pipe.

Wow, the whole back half of that threshing machine looks like my 72 All Crop with the exception of the straw blower!!

Thats a nice looking original machine. Looks to be a 1936 model also. It has the tool box by the blower and the newer front axle. This is the first one i seen that has all the peices on it for the automatic turn table . The peice im looking for goes on the end of the clean grain auger. If you look at the second pic there is a cast peice on the end of the auger thats at a 45 degree angle. There is supposed to be a chute that goes on there to make shure all the grain goes into the wagon. I suppose they did this if your filling a barge box and it was a little windy it wouldn't blow the grain away. Thanks Matt

Matt, is this the piece you are looking for? Ours is about 48" long and extends past the ears on the elbow by about 2" on each side. The end that fastens to the elbow also has a piece of flat 1/8" or 3/16" steel rolled to match the curve of the chute. According to the original owner this is original to the machine. We drilled a couple of holes 1/2 way up, about 1/2" form the edge so we could fasten the bagger with bungie staps.

Thanks jason thats what im looking for. All i have left is the flat metal stap the bolts to the elbow on the auger. Could trouble you for another pic of the bottom end? As long as im makeing the auger tube i figure i will make this peice also so i will only have to spay paint one last time. Thanks Again Matt

Matt, the other end is just plain on ours. Looks like it may have had anouther piece of that flat steel on it as reinforcement though. The end of ours needs to be flexible so we can shove the bagger up on it. If you are not going to put a bagger on it, I would reinforce the end with a piece of that flat steel like on the auger end.
