Was on a "treasure collecting trip" with my wife this afternoon, and we ended up at north of Bismarck at Washburn. Anyhow, sitting on a lot at Washburn, there was a custom combining outfit that had three S78 Gleaners. Now when I was a kid, it seemed like at least half of the combines That I seen in Custom combining outfits were Gleaners, but then throughout the 80's the Gleaners got scarcer and scarcer, until almost non-existent. But now, it seems like I see a few more of them again. I hope that they are making a come back. It was good to see them. Last year one time, I seen an outfit with one John Deere, and one S Gleaner. Thought that was kind of an odd combination. I hope the Gleaner could hold it's own against that Deere. darrel

Crew from here has 4 Gleaners, not sure what they have now, try to trade a couple every year, I think they have S88s but not sure. They were headed that way but hadn't left here yet yesterday at noon so It wasn't them.

Yeah the Deutz people from Germany didn't do Gleaner any good. They should have left the L series in the lineup. With updates it had another 10 years in it. But they knew more than us Yanks. Like Hell.
