Yesterday afternoon, my son got busy with his 645 allis payloader moving snow in the lot where we put our cow calf pairs as they calf. I was watching and helping hook up the chain to move the calf shelter and wind break panels and stuff like that. I cannot believe the amount of snow that thing can move in short order. It's got some really good radial tires on it so I know that helps a lot. It does get a little helpless if the tires get on ice, but if it gets some footing on bare ground, nothing is going to stop it. Snow is harder than a rock. One big ole snow drift he went to move, I was sure was going to stop him in his tracks. WRONG! That drift was wider and taller than the bucket, and about 12 feet long. The payloader moved that whole drift in one big chunk. Funny er n heck to watch. Darn sure ain't no typical farm tractor loader. Darrel

Darrel..Darrell...Pictures!!!....Pictures!!! How about some pictures so the rest of us could smile to. I know you don't do pictures well...maybe you should have commandeered the loader long enough for your son to take some pictures for us....I'll bet his heater works good too. This could be hearsay...without pictures...no documentation...I duno... May be we should have a Forum rule that says a post must be flagged without proper documentation. LOL
Hoping to post 645 pics and videos this summer of loading logs.

I wish I had a video of that big ole snow drift moving. But I still can get some pictures of the payloader, and have my son post em up for me. And the heater will cook you right out of the cab. Sure makes me want to fix up that first 645, instead of parting it out. I love them things. I think that a 21G pushing snow around could make me grin from ear to ear!
Have to admit, the son lost his smile today though. He got a little too close to the fence, the snow kind of turned out ice under the wheels. Between that and the articulating steering that he's not real used to, he got her stuck. Waiting on the block heater to warm the 8070 FWA up, so we can fire that up and hopefully free it up. Son isn't fun to be around when his "pride and joy" is immobilized. Lol. Darrel

I grew up in ND on a farm. When you are dealing with ND winter, snow, and cattle a 4WD 3 yard loader is a must have. There is a contractor removing snow from a huge parking lot here in Eagan. He is using a 645. I believe it has been repowered but have not gotten close enough to check it out. They turn 45 degrees left and right; Something the competition does not do.

And I found yet another use for the payloader. I finally got the lot cleaned out where I put my cow/calf pairs, and got 10 pair put out there. Went to fill the water tank for em, and discovered that the hose on my hose reel cart had spent the winter full of water; all 200 feet of it. Froze solid. Little tough to find 200 feet of hose anywhere to fill it. So we filled the payloader bucket with water and took it to the water tank and dumped it in. Problem solved for now. Any of y'all ever watered cows before with the payloader bucket...? And yes, Mel, I forgot to take pictures. Darrel

Great story. Thank you for sharing with us. ACMel is right,,, we all love pics. I’m in Michigan and have 50 acres with 5 horses. Our paddock is 300 feet from water and YES I have filled several heated 200 gallon water tanks with my Bobcat bucket. All the time wishing for a front end loader.

After thinking about the NO PICTURES and NO VIDEO, I think ol' Darrel needs a just punishment.... and after Serious thought, I gots the solution he comes and digs trails to some 60 bales and I will take pictures and video of him grunting that ol payloader... probably won't be as big of a grunt job since some of the snow is only a foot deep and some of it is to the top of the old aluminum grain shovel 'D' handle. What ye say to that Darrel...?  Seen the weather report, thinks ye better stay at home for awhile...  snow and wet snow forecasted... mmm Better IDEA, You go south with your payloader and I will meets up with ye and video and take pictures of you movin Shameless's snow maker machine farther south... like into Georgia or some-wheres like that where it will be ineffectual for the rest of the year... or until ol' trouble makin Dale figures out how to gets it back.

We got another 4 to 6 inches last night and this morning. Could take all kinds of "snow moving" videos with the 645. We are so fortunate to have that thing. Front transmission seal is still leaking a little, and we will change it soon. But for now we are adding oil and getting a lot of work out of it. Darrel

Darrel...my old lady...oooops….I mean the loving wife wanted me to lift her up in the backhoe bucket one day so she could paint on the house up high...went and got the backhoe and as I was lowering the bucket down to her (also dumping it) the water from the last rain doushed her! I didn't think them kind of words could come out of a females mouth! whew!
