Guys here in Michigan were ripping ground two weeks ago. I heard it was all good but the ground that was in the shadows of trees came up in big chunks. Same people couldnt get on the fields earlier due to the wet weather. Good Luck!

Its not an Allis but here I am on January 9th. I figured this may never happen again in the middle of January, so I hit the field.

I was plowing up till about a week ago , mabe have 10 acres left then the front left wheel fell off the xt (outer wheel bearing) right at dark. She is still planted in the same spot, because it rained that night and has been nasty ever since. I did get 40 acres that day though,

For the guys that have plowed with a WD45 you know the sound of that engine when it's under a load, it's got a bark all it's own. I plowed up the last of last years corn ground. It worked up nice too. I'm looking for planting time now!

Nice Don and yes they have a great bark! I had the 170 burning gas today finishing putting away the last 2 hay wagons since our hay has been all sold. I heard a small diesel around 4pm and it was my neighbor brush hogging one of my fields. I am having him hog the 3 fields I never got to this year. He was going to do in spring but what the hey?

Don - if you can plow today it means we haven't gotten enough rain this winter to replenish the subsoil moisture we lost during last summer's drought....
But glad you had good time playing today! I'm jealous! Mike |

Don...them 45's that you have sure sound good! Glad that you're out in the field getting things done with this nice weather and all! I've been doing a lot of logging recently with the nice weather, too,on about 1300 acres,so I'll be at it a while! LOL! I believe my brother and I will probably quit logging after this large acreage is finished. Tell your dad I said hello and hopefully I'll be out to see you in the spring. Rick

It was the nicest plowing my ground worked in years. Yes Mike it's way to dry we need rain bad. Rick the disc is looking for you to pull it again this year. If I thought it might come up I'd plant some of lasts year seed corn I'd put some in just to see. lol or
