You know,,them dang scammers must not sleep,,they keep coming up with new attempts to screw people alla the time,,,,AND,,whatever happened to the "DO NOT CALL" BS list that congress passed,,?? They must of put the list up fore sale to all the scammers of the world cause I get more nuisannce calls NOW than I ever did before,,,,,,Gosh dang friggin AH people,,,,,,!!! I was feverishly workin on my projects when I get a call from a little ole town up in the northern part of the state,,,Another of their tactics now,,and they start out tellin me " This is the IRS calling to notify you that Your SS account has been blocked due to some irregularities and closed and you need to call this number back asap to resolve the issue", I hung up on the kenyan soundin sob and called the IRS office and clued them in on these AH's,,,,, Anybody else got this type call??

well it's nice to know I'm NOt the only one POed about the guv and scammers.... SAME krap up here.. What we need is a 'personal Do Not Call' feature on our phones. So when 'one of them' calls, you pres *666 and their number will be added to YOUR 'do not call' list. Every phone service KNOWS the incomng caller's number ( for toll purposes..) so technically it can be done. It'd also allow me to BLOCK 'charities', 'surveyers' and politicos.... something NOT done with teh DNC service up here. 'Classic' up here is 'Ait Duct Cleaning' severice. It's legit, out of Bombay, they'll call 3-6 times in a week, then nothing for 2 months. I've even had them showup TWICE,I say , 'No I'm not Mr. Miller' and they leave after burning THEIR diesel for an hour to get here. BTW 'Windows tech support/Service' is a SCAM. They WILL infect your PC with 'ransomware' when you allow 'remote access'. Never,EVER enable 'remote access' !! In fact, get into Windows and turn it off !!!

I DO NOT answer any phone call that doesn't show up as a name in my contacts. If it is a legit important call, they can leave a message. And if I feel like it, I will call them back. One tool salesman has tried every tactic in the book to get me to answer my phone, when I've told him to not call me any more. One night, while sitting IN my house, my cell phone rang, and came up us a call from my home phone! Now it's a long distance call for my home phone to call my cell phone, and we don't even have a long distance carrier on our home phone. My home phone couldn't call my cell phone even if someone tried to. That guy has the number game down to a science. Darrel

We also never answer the phone unless we know who is calling or we are expecting a call from a certain like local town.
Sooo, also in our area as the phone is ringing, if it is a robo/scam, the computer that is calling you will hang up after the fourth ring.
The screens on our phones will indicate who is calling if that person's number is in the directory.
Our motto is that if the call is legit the person will leave a message. Way it is.

Well the NEW tactic is they are cloning Local Business phone numbers somehow and show up as those business on phone ID. This has happened to our local lumber yard even as they say their phones work fine with no hint of cross traffic.

Got one of them robo calls last Fri and Mon on my answering machine from the IRS that my benefits are suspended. Had to chase it down afterwards to make sure no problems, what a crock and waste of time.

IRS will not call you,for anything....they use the USPS,and send you a letter,not sure what will happen if ya don't answer the letter,,but I'm sure they(IRS) will find you,,specially if you owe them money....
So,,,anyone calling and sayin they are the IRS,, is a scam and mostly a scare tactic to get your money..

Tried to call a friend a week ago, said this phone does not accept robocalls, if you are a real person press this number, then they will answer. I guess if it is a robocall they don't have the ability to press that number.

We get calls from our home phone number (number comes up on tv screen) to the phone the call is from??????????????? Needless to say we don't answer!!!!!!!!!!

My phone shuts off at 8pm, comes back on at 6am except for a list of people. Woke up yesterday to see it stopped a call at 2am, I expect they should be darn glad it didn't wake me up.

Robo call with spoofed numbers is the latest , so the name shows up as someone you might know - but scammer on other end .
Found most auto dialers drop if not answered in 4 rings - so never answer till 6th ring or so unless its known number or name .
Yep latest is the SS scam calls / then Microsoft refund and the Indian caller who says your computer is flagged for sending out spam and they will fix it - just follow their directions to allow them to check your system - When they got that far with their speel , ask if my Apple 2 E can send out connected to voice modem

IF the damn government wanted to stop these calls, they could. They are getting pocket monies I'm sure for not doing it.
Instead of a "Do Not Call" list, it SHOULD BE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,IF you WANT to be called for crap, sign up here.!!
I get at least 3 a day and just block the number, but they have the availability of MILLIONS of numbers to call you. I have been called from MY OWN cell phone. Figure that one out!
It's just easiest to not answer, they'll leave a message if they're legit, someone looking for me, then I add them to my extensive list of callers. (which reminds me, I need to back them up again. I haven't done it for a while)
SOooooooo, if you're calling me, leave me a message and I'll call you back.

No need to call you Ted, we just harass you on this site! Got a call a few days ago from a woman asking if I could hear her, this is a scam to get you to say yes and then they can charge you for a long distance call at $10 per minute. I usually hang up unless I have nothing better to do then keep them on the line for as long as possible. Got a call from the ""Police widows and orphans fun" or something like that, it is a legit outfit BUT the fundraisers get 70% of any donations. I was stacking hay that day so I let him hear the rumble of the bale wagon engine until he hung up.
