I`ve had my computer with Windows 7 for 4 years and have not updated.  I get offers and some threats and it has even started to update itself a few times.  I`ve been told that if I don`t update to 10 that 7 will stop working.

Hey Weiner,,,According to the Microsoft techs, all previous operating Systems will continue to run as long as the programs and/or registry do not become corrupted by a virus or becomes overloaded with spam and system just runs completely out of memory. Negative on Win7 stop working just because you do not upgrade to win10. The concern with trying to upgrade from win7 to win10 is that most of the machines using win7  do not have the necessary processor speed and ram to run win10 as it is so much bigger than win7.  That is straight from MS.
No problems Thad,,,I really think the issue is right here on the site. For some reason, the path is not available for image transfers. I'm hoping and HOPING the administrators start to feel sorry for ole Joe and look into this for me,,,,Clap
You may be in luck, tho,,,If I remember correctly,,,ole Shameless has a 190 with a ,,,,,,,a,,,,,,good sized crane rigged up on it and we can load thet 40 on top of the Chevy Allis,,,,,well,,CHIT,,,maybe thet one is not too good,,Huh,,??? CHIT,,I bet ole JC will have a pic of thet one,,I know,,,!!!  Last time I looked on Google Earth,,,I believe I saw one of them tow dollies behind one of his sheds that we could weld a hitch on the trailer and haul azz, UMMm,, it ain't too far to your house is it,,,,??? Clap

re:

BULLFEATHERS !! Whoever told you that is 100% in error, wrong, smoking wackyweed... That's like saying you car will stop running cause you're not putting hightest in it.

I've got lots of PCs here, friend has even more.we're still running Win98,XP, 7 flawlessly, ZERO problems. This one is running 7, 64bit with NO autoupdates. I do download them, just do NOT install. if it ain't broke, no need to fix it.

As for the hardware vs software. Yes older machines hardware won't be 'compatible' with the newer OSes or programs. Actually it's the new OSes are not compatible with older PCs ! That's a huge thorn in my butt, it's to force you to buy new PCs to run the new programs you've been told you have to have, only to make 'them' money.
I use Excel( 97 ? version) to do business taxes, have for years...the 'spreadsheet' is a near copy of the one I designed using Visicalc on my TRS80 ! Visicalc was the FIRST spreadsheet.

As for getting pictures up here...I use the 'file upload' stuff in the 'members control panel' at the top of the webpage here, have for years, it works. I have found it works better if you resize to say 640w x 480t when posting the image. Some call that 'email' size, I know it as VGA mode.

NO, Jay,,,,HORSEFEATHERS,!!!!!!!! I NEVER SAID WIN 7 WOULD STOP WORKING BY NOT  UPGRADING TO WIN10,!!!!  IN FACT I TOLD HIM EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE,,!! You need to go back and re-read my post to him a little slower before you jump to conclusions and start berating my post.

Info on the Truck Tor, JC's maybe a half breed picture.
From Farm Show Magazine.

Darrel Foster's 4-WD "truck-tor" looks like any other pickup from the front. But walk to the rear end and you'll see that the back half is a tractor.

"It gets lots of attention wherever I go," says Foster, of Springfield, Ohio, who built his "truck-tor" from a 1974 International 3/4-ton 4-WD pickup and an old Minneapolis Moline 302 tractor.

The "truck-tor" is equipped with a 3-pt. hitch, hydraulics, and reversible pto. Foster controls all tractor functions from inside the pickup cab by means of rods connected to the tractor rear end's brakes, pto, high-low transmission, gear shift lever, and hydraulic levers. There are four transmissions -- two in the pickup and two in the tractor. The combination of the pickup and tractor trans-missions provides 36 forward gears and 16 reverse gears.

Foster says his "truck-tor" could be used for pulling wagons, raking hay, spreading fertilizer, hauling manure, and would work great as a pto-powered ditching machine because it can run very slow. "It's at least equal to a 100 hp tractor and was a big hit at our local Steam Thresher's reunion. I've even entered it in tractor pulling contests where it did very well. I put the tractor transmission in neutral and the truck trans-mission in gear to operate the pto and hydraulics. By shifting the pickup into 4-WD and leaving the rear end in neutral, the pickup pulls the tractor. This lets me travel up to 40 mph smoothly down the road."

The pickup had been damaged previously in a rollover accident so Foster replaced the cab and bolted on a new front bumper removed from a cement truck. He cut off the pickup frame just ahead of the rear wheels. Then he took the tractor apart by splitting it right in front of the transmission. The tractor axle is positioned about where the pickup's rear axle used to be. He made a driveshaft to connect the truck and tractor transmissions together. Then he raised the pickup 8 in. so the two transmissions would line up.

"If I could do it over I'd use a 1 1/2-ton truck with a higher frame so I wouldn't have to raise the pickup," says Foster, who adds that he plans to install a hitch in front of his truck-tor to move machinery.

JC(WI) I mounted a set of tires on rims, that one of my hillbilly friends mounted on an old ferd real similar but a size or two smaller than those rears. About 35mph was top speed on the highway. I couldn't get those darn crap throwers on the spin balancer. But it was one heck of a coyote hunting truck. He actually had a 4 speed manual hooked behind the automatic. Boys had a lotta fun with it. Now he ran an adapt kit to mount them rims on the Ol trk rear gear. None of that PTO stuff for him, too technical.
