Easy way to remove the roof after gutting, would be to crash an old junker car or truck through it! Be sure to make a video of it to put on youtube, so you can make $, and we can watch!

I will keep that in mind Dave !!!! I was thinking about taking the tin walls off, taking out every other stud or more, then using the tractor to PULL the walls and roof down on top of the floor... BUT, YOUR IDEA would make for a better youtube !

Having removed more than a few from parks I've owned is just let some scrappers strip what ever they can get off and then get a 40 yard dumpster delivered. Have it ripped down with a good sized backhoe and write the check(s).

i was given a 50's trailer house years ago, was gonna make a hay trailer out of it, the PO had just replaced the floor and furnace in it, took it home, put it out in the pasture under some trees (so prying eyes ((county)) couldn't see it), and made it into a party place! served us well for many years, then some neighbor kids found it (trespassing) and broke out the windows and torn things up inside. i found their 4 wheelers nearby on my field road (that's how i knew someone was out there). they scrambled when i yelled at them. but....the next day they was out running our field roads again, i came across their 4 wheelers with no one on/around them. you know what the rear tire of a tractor (7010) does to a 4 wheeler? LOL..it ain't purdy! never had anymore problems with them again! we still go down there and consume sometimes, i either gotta fix what they broke up or scrap it. not sure which i'll do yet.

Reminds me of my grandfather, found a go-cart in the field, outta gas. He was discing the field. Ever see what a D-19, pulling a 14' Kewaunee disc harrow can do to a go-cart? Folded it up pretty good, with lotsa sharp edges!

I have been cutting the grass, working on the truck, changing oil in the tractors, cutting down dead trees, maintaining the county roadsides for 40 years... Nobody ever gave me a PENNY..... Dont know what you get paid to cut your own grass ??
Dumpster is $500 rent.. NOPE... I have PAID someone to do my work less than 5 times in the past 50 years. Not about to start now... Got an empty shell with a bathroom on one end right now. Plenty of goodies to sell, and a few to keep.. Some will give away. Had a large bon fire this am for the couch and a bunch of the wood trim !! Better than setting around drinking beer all day !!

Fixing to haul another load to scrapper tomorrow, should have around 500-100lbs of scrap tins, so maybe $40 there, but had and stripped out around ten pounds of Copper left overs and cutaways(#1), have about twenty pounds of scrap brass(#3 copper) and close to fifty pounds misc aluminum(NOT Cans so lower end of $per pound) so should make a little cash for fuel cost and my time not throwing the crap in a trash can.
Still have numbers seven and eight 40 gallon trash bags going out from shop Wednesday. JUST Trash in those, will burn all the paper and wood scraps.

Exactly the same for me. I do most everything I need done. Only in the past few years ever paid a mechanic. I did hire an Electricial on our remodel but I still pulled most wire and did most labor. Same on the plumbing. I have dropped very few screws n nails on this year down. When I do I get down and retrieve it right then. Doing a fairly neat job of this. I haven’t made a dime but I haven’t spent one either. Maybe the siding frame and axles will bring a little. Didn’t get the roof off but it’s lose all the way around. Have a couple exhaust vents to cut out from furnace and range. Rained yesterday so I spent the afternoon loading ammo. |

Took out furnace, water heater and air conditioner unit. Set in the driveway. Try to GIVE to someone to haul to the scrap yard..
Almost done with interior wall removal. Drywall is broken up and stacked in 8 piles. Cleaned up the 2 x 3 and 2 x 4 studs for "repurpose".. Have about 100 total.. 60 in the truck. ![]() Left 6 ft section of two interior walls and added diagonal brace for support. Still have frig and stove setting in the way. Going to put things toward the center of room and start removal of drywall on exterior walls by Christmas.... Have drywall stacked in 8 piles waist high. Waiting for ground to freeze to haul out to corn field and spread. ![]() |

I don't have a trailer, so I don't know how it is. I have another problem, I need to write an essay, but I don't have time to do it myself. I work in a company and study, and I believe that young specialists earn invaluable experience during this time. And working already in the financial department, you will be able to solve many problems - pricing, budgeting, marketing, asset management, tax planning, accounting, insurance, property management. Guys, if I order an essay here aplusessay.com/finance-assignment-help.html? What do you think?

Yea, i need to look at the frame a little closer after i get the roof and walls down.. Im sure i can cut / weld and come up with a couple 20 ft walk bridges minimal... This thing is probably 1970 vintage so i dont know how strong it is... It is 70 ft long.
Loading per foot really depends on what the SPAN is... If your saying 200# per foot and i can spread the load out over 5 feet, then that is 1000# ...... Could get a 4 wheeler over that............ again, depends on the span 20 ft is a lot easier than 40 ft or 70 ft. Edited by steve(ill) - 05 Dec 2020 at 3:50pm |

Tore out all drywall off outside walls ( inside house).. Didnt take more than 4 hours.. I was expecting a lot more.. Loaded up the truck bed twice ( 5' x 6' x 2' ) and hauled out to the small Deer Plot Corn field... Lot easier than the plowed farm field... I just threw it in to an area 20 x 20 .... will let the rain and snow tear it up, then spread with the Bobcat in the spring and disc in.. Easier than i thought !!....
Now what to do with the ceiling... 3/8 drywall with 6 inches blown in insulation above that. Should make a real mess... Read "on line" not to put that on the field as it has fire retard chemicals in it... Might take a small portion tomorrow and see if it will BURN ?? in a hot fire. Sold off most of the interior sink, toilet, hot air grates, electrical box, plugs, gas line for a few dollars just to keep it out of the dumpster.. Burning the trim , shelves, drawer to keep them out of the dumpster.. Only the drape rods, nails hardware goes into dumpster.... Sold 500 gallon propane tank for $500. in 24 hours ! .... trying to sell wall fiberglass insulation now in 7 ft batts.

gee, and I passed on a free 15' tandem 'fryshack' trailer today.... springs were shot, dexter hubs, NO brakes, pintle hitch,3 bald flat tires would have made a nice storage shed or 'tiny' house though..... but.. no where to park it here.... there was also a free 'seacan'... oh well...

Neighbor got a free 16x60 trailer house... when it was moved the first time, it had 3 axels under it and then were taken off. So the fellow gave it to the neighbor. They put two axels under it, all they had, and hooked on to it with a 4wheel drive tractor and were booging down the road when one rim pealed off. then another tire blew, then anoterrim an tire vame off and got in front of rear axel and that ripped off and the last tire blew and cutting the highway up and axel went into the blacktop and... there they sat on the road. hitch had started to tear off. they tried to back it up and they bent more stuff up. finslly they got a payloader to push the trailerhouse off the road. they called the county sheriff dept. and said that it was against the law to move mobile homes with farm tractors now, gotta be a licensed mover now. But the sheriff's dept wasn't going to fine them this time sinceit is new law... Highway deptartmen wasn't as kind, they figured 10,000 for repair of road damage... After using pay loader, the frame was all buckled and damaged and hitch needed to be welded back on. So it was junk. They looked for somebody to take care of it so, they found a fellow that would demo it for 3000... he got two big dumpsters in and used a track hoe and bobcat and crushed that whole building down and stuffed into those two dumpsters. he tore the frame out and cut it up an stuffed that in his dump truck box. In 5 hours he disposed of the mobile home. He said the thing should have had 4 axels under it, cuzz there was a roof on top of the old roof made of 2x4's, plywood and shingles. The roof would have made for a good woodshed or some machinery if set up on poles. Well that was an expesive free tailer... ![]() |

Tearing down is the EASY Part... CLEANUP is the problem...
![]() Took the last load of wall drywall to the Deer Corn Field today. ... Cleaned up on one end of the trailer and then attacked the ceiling.. Made something like a crow bar with a longer leg.. stick thru the dry walll and PULL DOWN... Did an area 14 ft wide and 10 ft long ( rafters on 2 ft centers... Got a plastic 40 gallon trash can and line with a 42 gallon plastic bag... shovel the "blown in" insulation into the bag with a snow shovel... tie off and remove.. Pack it good and i get about 14' x 4 ' of insulation in one bag... will try to sell for $2 bag or give away......... OH... and its shredded fiber glass, not paper. About a week and will have the insulation and ceiling drywall all off... More drywall to dispose of !! ........ got a couple guys that are looking at the wall and ceiling insulation to do their garage... HOPE !

I cut the roof in half and cut 3 big exhaust boots out. Pulled the roof off the front half only to discover it’s 2 layers thick. On the ground I use a 4.4” grinder with a diamond blade to cut the roof in to 3’x612’ strips and stacked them on the trailer. Got the lower layer pulled loose and ready to remove. The other half is flat and just single layer.
