Have a couple of sets of sway blocks.  Thought they were the same until looking closer at them and one set appears larger than the other and has different #'s.  The top ones are AM 5547-1 and 8-1.  The bottowm ones are AM 5357-3 and 8-3.  I thought the bottom ones would work on my D17 IV, as I picked them up at an auction that had a couple of 170's.  Don't know what the top ones fit on.  It you can help ID them, I would appreciate it.  Thanks, Dave

The top set will work on your D17 IV in both positions: set low for cat 2 sway up and down or flipped to the high position for cat 2 sway control up and allowed to sway when arms are down.

The bottom set looks like D19/190 sway blocks and may work on your 17 in the down position only.

Confused yet? LOL

An operators manual or seeing them in person will clear things up.

Ok got some pictures of my D17 SIV for you today Dave. The ones with the rectangle hole, upper pair in your picture, in them are for D17-185 and can be used in two positions for cat 2 sway control.

Here is the thick one in the down position for sway control with the 3pt in the raised and the lower position.

Here is the same block flipped over for sway control with the 3pt in the raised (transport) position, but will allow the arms to sway when in the lowered (working) position. I also have the smaller/thinner cat 1 sway block installed. I like to do this when blading snow so that with the blade down and it hits something (ie a curb) the blade can move freely to the side and not shock load things, but when it is in the raised position for transport the 3pt can't swing over and get into the tire.

The bottom set of blocks in your picture will work on your D17, but only in the down position as they do not have the rectangle hole in them to allow them to be used in the upper position.

Yeah, Brian, I really had no idea about all of the positions or uses of these sway blocks.  Guess I'll keep them.
