Hey guys,
I had a rear tire on my WC go south on me, but was still able to use it last summer/fall. (Sidewall is blowing out). I have steel wheels, 2 sets actually. The ground I am hobby farming is Sand mostly.
I am concerned that normal steel wheels will sink into the sand while I am pulling a set of disk.
If I bolted up both sets of rear steel wheels, will this give me enough floatation while working the ground? I don't have steel wheel extensions, but while talking with another forum member he suggested I bolt the sets together around the wheel rim.
Just kicking this idea around. I eventually will buy new 11x28 tires, but what the heck. I have 2 sets of steel and it just might work...
Thoughts??

I think the flat steel was designed for sandy soil rather than the skeleton steel wheels.

The only bad thing about using those steel wheels in sandy or soft soil is if they lose traction they will bury the tractor down to the draw bar before you have time to use the clutch.
