Spring plowing and discing with the WD

   First outing of note since I put the new front pedestal
 seal and thrust washer in last year along with new hubs, new tires and 
one new (white) rim. Took a little video of it and got it edited and threw it up today:

 totally missed my shot to get anything done last fall, but got the plow
 out last Sunday and rolled up the garden patch and let it dry until 
Wednesday and then disced it up about 3 times long ways and 1 time short
 ways and it came out pretty good. Even managed to get a bit of video of
 the occasion.

Anyway, been a few months since I last stopped by, hope everybody has been well.

	A good time was had by all, tractor as well as operator. Like seeing the old stuff snort & work just like it did many decades ago. Did a lot of plowing with a WD & 3-14's everywhere except alfalfa.

	Looks and sounds great. I bet that front end work will last the rest of your life. Me being me, I'd jack the front end up just to make sure nothing seated in any further after bouncing around in the field. That's probably completely unnecessary, though.

	Dennis J OPKs -- Indeed, it was fun (albeit a bit windy). Love the sound of the old engine lugging along and smelling the fresh dirt. wjohn -- I'm hoping it does, I really don't want to get back in there again anytime soon haha. I may double check the front end just in case, but when I first put it together I did something wrong and had the gear putting pressure on the crank short shaft, so as long as I can steer I'm hoping I haven't shoved anything upwards. ACinSC -- Oh yes, it was as fresh of a smell as I always look forward to!

	When I got my wide front 45 it had a bent crank rod (not crankshaft) in it. Being a novice at that time I didn't know there were 2 different crank rods. One has a tapered point & the other has a square end. I got the wrong one in it & it is staying there. No crank-no start. Has always started with starter which has been tuned up a time or to. The bent one caused no steering issues since there's no weight on it. Some previous owner was extremely abusive since the front motor mount support was also bent. Like it had been picked up & dropped. I don't how you could even do that. Don't think it ever had a loader on it. Live & learn. I think that rod was bent by steering into an immovable object.

	Yeah sometimes I am amazed at the kinds of abuse these old iron pieces sustained, or how long they kept running with things falling apart. My other WD the one front hub had 1" of side to side play. Had to have a buddy machine me a spacer for the new hub and get one of those special lock nuts due to damaged spindle threads as well.
