Eastern ND area got snow, up to 17 inches, in our area we got about 6 inches on top of 2 inches of rain. The beans and corn are about 10 to 20 percent harvested, going to be interesting to get back at it, hopefully weather gets better.

I haven't seen the sun until this morning, 6 days of clouds, very unusual for Colorado.  Got a little over an inch of rain in the last week.  Today and tomorrow are supposed to be in the 60's and sunny then snow starting Saturday evening into Sunday.  High's on Sunday, mid 20's with a low Sunday night in the low teens.  Going to be moving a lot of pumpkins out of the field on Saturday evening, back into the shelters we built last week.  Hopefully there will be a big crowd at the farm tomorrow to buy lots of them out of the field.  Guess I won't be doing hay rides on Sunday!  Supposed to be warming up to the 60's after Monday so maybe I'll be able to get the hay harvested this fall.

We had an inch of rain followed by 19" of heavy wet snow. Lots of harvest on hold beets,Corn and sunflowers are still in the field about half the edible beens and most of the soys are under a lot of snow. Beets harvest should start again when they can get in the field.Corn and sunflowers can be harvested after freeze up if you have to .

Must be all those promises you made to Shameless.  He's taking care of you,,,,,,,,,for now Darrel.
We've gotten upwards of 5" of rain so far this month, but no snow...(sorry JC, I gotta say it).
Our HIGHS for the next 10 days is only going to get into the lower 40's.  That's our USUAL LOW for this time of year.  Sure hope it's going to get back to normal pretty soon...Cry

We got our first major snow on the last day of summer, Sept 21.  Got snow every weekend since.  Last weekend was another major dump and it's snowin' again right now!!  Still lots of crops in the fields, especially canola, and it'll take a miracle to get it off this year.  We had not much of a spring here and now went from summer directly into winter.
Whatever happened to "global warming" !!

Should start to get interesting in the grain markets if the harvest of this record crop gets delayed.

Cargill in Blair NE is hurting for corn right now, but they won't raise the prices any! dry corn is gonna bring a premium this year. and it'll be a miracle if the soys stay in their pods. saw on the news that one farmer somewhere was out checking his corn field in a kayak! was at the elevator yesterday and a dude came in to test his corn, tested just over 19% moisture, he had hip waders on! prolly be a lot of twisted and sprung combines this year!

KCCI TV showed video of a Handsaker family at Radcliffe harvesting yesterday and leaving ruts 6 or 8" deep even with tracks on the combine.

Most of the land around here was classified as swamp in the 1912 topographic maps and even with tile it is looking like swamp this week.

Soybeans in the state of Iowa are wet. Very, very few fields have been taken. If any action is being done, it is in the corn and it is hard to find a dry field.

I measured 2 to 2-1/4" of snow on my back deck late yesterday and reported it to NWS at Johnston. Channel 8 TV reported 2" at Ellsworth so my report got passed on.

Got about 13" of wet, heavy snow just North of the Hi-line Bridge. It was like pushing wet cement. Thank goodness most of it's gone now. Hopefully it will dry out and harden up so the farmers can salvage some of the 2018 harvest.

took a drive today, there are a lot of deep tracks in fields that are getting harvested, some had water standing in the tracks, gonna fight a lot of compaction next year!

There are partly and fully harvested fields around here with water filled ruts too.

Last week a Handsaker from the Radcliffe area was interviewed on KCCI-TV. He said the only way he could get through the field was with tracks on the combine. In the pictures it looked like the tracks were sinking 6 or 8" into the ground.
