I am sure this post will not be of value to alot of the more experienced people on the forum but here is how I removed the rivets. I heated the rivets with a Mapp gas torch, put wax on them and removed them with a vice grips slide hammer. Outside of a chunk of skin gone from one hand they removed very easily. 
Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!
