As a lot of youse Guys know,,,that due to my wife's unfortunate surgery,,,I have been promoted to "Head Cook" and #1 dishwasher as well,,,,,,, ![]() A couple of Christmas ago, one of the boys gave us a set of real nice stainless pots and pans,,Calphalon brand. The 4 pans are bout 1/4" stainless and the 4 pots as well. In the last 6-8 months,,I have noticed they are startin to get a kinda brown stain on the underside and very hard to get off and gettin worse as time goes. I even tried some of those scrubs with ajax soap in em but still cannot get all the stain off. Anybody havin that issue with theirs, and what do you or your wife uses,,??? We are on propane but the other set we had,,Paula Dean did not do this,,????

I usually see a burnt/browned bottom of a skillet as a character mark. However, if you want to take the burner marks off, you can try oven cleaner. DO NOT use the yellow Easy Off. It says it is safe for stainless and it would probably work fine, but I have seen where people put it on stuff that they THOUGHT was stainless and it wasn't. Usually refrigerators. Whew! The blue Easy Off or the cheap stuff in the dollar store should do the trick. I would start with a test on your least valuable skillet first.

That's what we call "seasoned"? If they have the non stick inside, we wash those with a drop of dawn and hot water. Use a plastic brush a little as possible, rinse then dry with a paper towel. The wife has cut that real thin sheet styrafoam into squares and it is put between the pans.

I don't bother with cleaning the bottoms,,,,,,,,,,,,it'd be a days work all too often. Gives em character. I use cheap paper plates between them when storing.

Fiber disc in a drill and then some buffing compound and a small buffing pad. Or just put them away and get you some good cast iron.
