Howdy, thanks for letting me join.
I just picked up a Simplicity 785 Sickle bar mower, its needs some restoration, the sellers said it had been sitting outside for 5+ years. So LOTS of PB Blaster, etc. Now, don't shoot me, but I run JI Case garden tractors, I have a 1968 and a 1973 Loader model. My son also runs Case. Therefore, we want to adapt this sickle bar unit to fit our 3 point, and drive it with a hydraulic motor. How fast does the drive pulley on an Allis 710/712/716 run ? This is the sickle model with the planetary gear reduction. The mower manual says to run the tractors engine at 3/4 throttle, so that's about 2400 RPM. Does the PTO pulley run as engine speed? |

My 1968 is a Model 155 which is a 10 HP (kohler) "small wheel" unit
My 1973 is a Model 646 Loader tractor (16 HP Onan CCKa) with 3 Point. I also have OEM pallet forks for the loader. I use the pallet forks to move things all over my 2+ acres property. I also have a Hydraulic drive tiller for use with 646. Plan is to use the Simplicity 785 Sickle mower on the 646 to mow ditch, and under many large trees on the property. |
