Anyone had experience with shipping tires with Fastenal? I've heard they are the way to go price wise, just wondered if anyone here has done it? Price? I've got a set of 18.4-38's to ship, thanks.

The Fastnal store near me is manned with personnel that doesn't even want you to breath the air inside of their store unless you do more than $100,000 a year in business with them.  Screw them and the horse they rode in on. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

I shipped some CA wheels/tires once through Fastenal, and it was pretty easy and not too costly I don't think. I don't remember the amount, though.

I looked into shipping some parts through Fastenal last fall. The price they quoted me was ridiculously high. When I told them thanks, but no thanks, I got an email from the person that sent me the quote saying that they has just had a rate increase. Then they came back with a better (but still not good) price.

I tried to ship a box of parts back in the fall and they were twice the price of UPS.

I'll bet uship.com is what you're thinking of.

I used uShip once back in 2012 to ship my newly-purchased 7010 tractor about 100 miles from the seller to my house.  It ended up being a very good experience.

You basically post all the details about what you want to ship and shippers bid against each other for your shipment.  Once the bids start coming in, you can pick the one you want based on price, customer reviews, and schedules.

The guy who ended up hauling my tractor happened to be heading my direction with an empty trailer and quoted a very fair price.

I have had great service from Fastenal 3PL shipping.
Go on line, submit a request and get a quote. No obligation. Just get a price.

Everything must be secured on a pallet.

Items in enclosed pallets can be insured, items on open pallet cannot be insured.

All my shipment have been on a 4' x 4' pallet and have arrived in a timely fashion.
I have never shipped tires on open pallet.
