I have a motor out of a D14 that I plan to put into my mowing CA this winter. I will need to rebuild it so I will make the nessecary changes along the way. I assume I use the D14 flywheel, head and front plate. Will the CA valve cover work on the 14 head for the oil fill? Which starter and ring gear? Will the 14 manifold exhaust work with the CA hood? Any input would be helpfull.
Thanks

You will need to use the CA flywheel and clutch assembly. Every thing else will stay the same on the D 14 engine. Starter and ring gear will need to be from the CA. You will still use the D 14 manifold. I am not totally sure on the valve cover. I have a valve cover from a D 15 out here some where but do not remember them being different on top. All I remember about it was that it was four bolt. It might have been wider but not sure about that either.

Would a diesel from a D-14,15 fit in a 149 D-10?

The valve cover of the 14 is has the angled oil fill tube under the hood, on the CA it comes straight up through the hood. Also will the CA thermostat housing fit on the 14 head.
Thanks for the replies.

My memory thinks that the valve cover gaskets for the 125 and 149 engines were different and that the 149 gasket was wider than the 125 gasket. I believe the thermostat housings are interchangeable, however, many of the 125 engines did not have the bypass (altho I have seen some that did have a bypass that was plugged).
