I am looking at a Hesston 856 round baler and wondering if these balers are any good.
Would like to hear the pro and cons on it. and if its easy to put net wrap on it. I don't really know much about the newer round balers since I have used a 605F Vermeer since 1976, and am getting tired of backing up to drop bales and having to keep an eye on bearings that fail and are starting to fail... and metal fatiging too, (some from rusting). So how good are these Hesstons? Are they the same some other brand? Thanks for any coments. JC |

IDK about newer Hesstons, but the old 5530 I have has been bulletproof...

We have an 956 autocycle. Their one excellent baler in my opinion. My model is just an upgraded 856. Loading net wrap is not to bad . You will have to lift a net wrap roll a little high but doable. Parts seem to be easy to come by if you have a good dealer in area. Hesston seem's to be one area of Agco that is easy to do business with, at least in our area. Makes a very good bale. We make our bales about 1800 lbs in the field and they keep well. Use bales for our own use and for sale. Make around 500 bales per year.
