Why sand blast when they dip them to remove the rust. Only paint needs removing so you spray the wheel with oven cleaner let it set for a bit and then hose or power wash off.

Zinc coverage was really good. With the exception of The areas of the room that had heavy rust. Those areas are really porous which holds in the acid from the acid bath. Those areas want to weep out acid during the galvanizing process and leave blemishes on the surface. This is why we sand blast the rims so the acid has more of an even surface. The worse the rust is on the rims the more defects you will have on the surface after galvanizing.

My rear Galvanized rims were used when I got them, but I know the sprinkler system that they came off of was installed before 1978. No rust on them, however my rims were custom built and then galvanized, so no previous rust to worry about, or need to sandblast. They are all dipped into a hydracloric acid bath because the acid gives the metal a little bit rough edge for the zinc to adhere to. Hotdip is also better because the zinc causes a chemical bond with the steel, instead of just applying a coating.

If you are referring to the wheel stopping blocks then yes I do have them I just don't have them put on yet.
