I'm seeking diagnostic advice for a 190 XT Power Director issue. The tractor is currently only functional in its odd-numbered gears, and the PD lever has no effect on ground speed in any position.

All external linkages are verified to be moving correctly. I have previously encountered debris in the hydraulic system, so I am concerned about a similar blockage or a mechanical failure in the range transmission. Are there specific valves or internal screens you recommend checking before I consider a split?

Start by pressure testing the P.D. clutch itself!!! Good/decent pressure and no-go means an internal issue, requiring a split. Should be two 1/8" pipe plugs on the side of the PD valve. Dozens and dozens of times when I remove the PD valve and its cover plate I can visually see problems with the PD clutch by looking at the clutch disc/separator plate spacing. A quick air check sometimes helps too. Sounds like a split is needed but without pressure testing first and then visually inspecting from the side, you are totally guessing.
