I have somewhat of a problem (not really bad but kind of confusing). I have a 1939 Allis Chalmers Model B, and I'm thinking about doing an engine rebuild sometime in the future. My problem is trying to find a rebuild kit that will fit in side this tractor, all of the kits are for 125 ci engines but since mine is an early model, the ci is 116 and I can't find one for that engine. Will the other kits work? Or do I need to find one of the respectful size? And if so where can I find the kit? Thanks,
                                                      Kaleb.

You may be better of doing it piecemeal. As this is not a sleeve motor, remove the motor and dis-assemble.  See if it has been re-bored, by measuring the bore, and seeing if the pistons are stock or over-size. same for bearings.  Then You'll know.  A good quality auto parts supplier, like Auto Plus, (if that's what they are still named) may be able to find the parts, piecemeal, off of the measurements, plus the application.  Takes longer this way, but you get the right parts, for the application.Wink

The differances between a 116 and 125 is the bore size. Externally the sleeves are the same. A kit for a 125 fits the earlier engines.

DIYDave, they are wet sleeve engines, same as the W and G engines.  The larger bore kits will fit just fine.  Allis used the same block and crank when they went from 116 to 125.

If you like, there are kits available that fit both the BE & CE blocks that have a 3-7/16" bore. All parts are interchangeable between the BE & CE engines.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

AS Paul said, the original motor was 3-1/4 inch bore... then the upped that to 3-3/8 inch bore... the NEW KITS are normally 3-7/16 bore.... that would be a great upgrade.. Also raises compression for more HP.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Whoops, my bad, the B is indeed a sleeve motor.  Shows how long its been since I've been inside one...Wink

Still a good idea to pull it apart and inspect, before ordering parts, though.  You never know what previous owners have done, over the past 80 years...
