I've had a set of 14.9 x 28's 6 ply on my WD45 for 6 years now and am happy with how they seem to wear and traction. But, it isn't a full time use tractor. I do about 300 miles a Summer of tractor riding and a little moldboard plowing for show. They are physically big for their size. I think you'll like them. I would buy another set in a heartbeat.

My dad has BKT's on his IH 340 for 4 years and uses it to pull logs out of the woods, bale hay and rake hay. No problems so far.

Like everything else in life you get what you pay for. No cheap tires for me. I’ve tried it and regretted it both times.

Dave,
I had a set on one of the tractors. They seemed OK. Good luck with your new tires! Regards, Chris

I almost went BKT but the Firestone SAT II 23 degree came in about 50.00 more per tire so I went with Firestone's. {18.4 x 38's}

I have a set of BKTs on one of my WD45s they have been on for 10 years mine are 8 ply and are a little stiff. They still look like new there is no wear and no weather checking my tractors are parked inside all the time so they don't weather. They have good traction I put on new rims with new Goodyear tubes when I installed and haven't Touched them since. They are a couple inches taller than the good years or firestones they are R1 tread pattern.

I have a set on my combine. I'd have to look for sure, but I'm going to say for about 8 years now? Doesn't see tons of acres/ hours, but sees some abuse from corn stalks for sure. Work fine for traction and mud, and no gouges or premature wear so far.

They are ok on a chore tractor. Anything on a full use tractor gets Firestone.

Dr Allis I have just the opposite experience. Have 190xt with BFG 34" tires parked next to 220 with BKT 38" tires and they are the same height. Just my experience.

Whatever you do don't buy a chinese made tire. I've seen what they look like in less than 10 years. Firestone for me.

I went with Goodyear 14.9 x 28” on my 45 a few years ago. They are not as wide as the 13.6’s that I pulled off. They sit square with a 12” rim. Height and traction are fine.
