After reading the posts about the low-hour 7080 and the possibly rusted/replaced rear rims, I was reminded to ask folks about options for rear tire fluid.
I ran a 3/4" bolt through my D17 rear tire last fall, and had that one side replaced, but did not put the chloride back in, since it is also showing some corrosion at the fill valve.
Now, of course, that tire loses traction and spins all of the time.
Are there any non-corrosive fluids, that you can actually afford?
I thought about RV antifreeze, (the pink stuff) but don't think that I want to pay for it.
thanks,
Roscoe.

Replacing the valve cores every 2 years on CaCl filled tires will go a long way to preventing any leaks. Mike

I do what Mike does; new valve cores every 2-3 years or at the 1st sign of leakage. Jack up that side, rotate tire so that valve stem is at the top and carefully remove it. I also coat the threads with vasoline before I install the new ones. Doeds not do much good if one runs a bolt or ??? into the tube tho.

The beat juice stuff is rim guard. I looked into it and it was a no for me. The stuff will freeze on you a tire shop told me. They USE to sell it and not no more. They said you needed bigger pumps to pump it. and here in northen WI they said it turn to like a slushy. They said it took them all day to change one tire because of that. But it wont rust the rim. Just about 4 bucks a gallon to. Eric
