My tires on my AC conditioner were dry rotted and continued to leak air after a few days. So I decided to put 2 new tires on it. When I removed the wheels I found the bearing on one side were shot. So I call up SLI and ordered 2 new ones that ended up coming out of Wisconsin from another Agco dealership. Much to my surprise they were NOS AC bearings in original packaging which I thought was really cool. The sad part is it again made me wonder why and this world did such a great company, making great products allow itself to get into such a position to have to close its doors? Makes me mad as well. I have ordered many parts for restoration on my 720’s, 190XT, WD, but they have always been Agco or aftermarket. So this is the first original AC part in a original box for me since they shut the doors. Pretty cool...

The only two Companies left (not bankrupt, or sold out) is Caterpillar and Deere.

I am surprised the dealer kept them on the shelves all these years. It is neat that they were Allis parts and like you I am disappointed that Allis is no more.

It does bring a tear to the eye, it is cool too. A closer look shows a difference in the numbers printed on the box. When did they switch from the wider to the thin print, or the thin to the wider?

Have no idea about the print, but I do plan to display the empty boxes. A reminder of the good ole days when things were well built and made in America. How many companies still have products doing farm work 44, 52, 68 years later? All of our AC tractors and garden equipment are still going strong.

Actually they were, $6,47 each pus shipping. I was surprised myself. Got my conditioner back in the shed today. 2 new radial tires...special size so I went them. Requires a narrow tire.

If you haven't installed the bearings yet. I would wash the old grease out and repack.

Quite a few years ago I was lucky to find on e-bay a WC Brake Band set in the ORIGINAL ALLIS CHALMERS CAN. I remember when I was running parts for Pop I sure handled enough of them. That with another canned Allis Chalmers Part sit proudly on a shelf in my office. Great Memories Good Luck! Bill Long
ps: I think fondly of all the competitor brands I sold against. John Deere, IH, Ford, Ford Ferguson, Minnie MO etc. Seemed like the 80's did them in

They didn’t come from a dealer. They came from the Parts Depot. The bar code sticker on the bag gives it away. They by old and over stock from dealers and sell it to other dealers.. you or I can’t order parts directly from them. A Agco dealer can only get Agco parts from them. If they need a part for a Case or Deere they would have to get them from a Case or Deere dealer.

Thanks for clarifying that Matt, I just assumed another Agco dealer. Guess I was so excited to get the bearings that I didn’t pay attention to the label and tossed the shipping box.
And yes, I cleaned the hub before reassembly.
