Hello
Would wild cat eat a sick mouse that had eaten poison. Normally throw out rat poison around barns but noticed wild cat. Don’t want to kill the cat. He isn’t eating enough of them. Thanks

Pest service here noted would have to eat several DOZEN dead mice in one sitting to do ANY harm. Is the same stuff give to Heart Patients in low dosage to thin the blood, in mice it causes them to bleed to death internally then desiccate. Common name WARFARIN.

If the cat aint eating enough mice, only feed him a little. Dodsworth will work for food, if he ain't overfed...

For dogs , a quick way to get them to upchuck is some bread and hydrogen peroxide .
Wet down bread and feed to dog , in short time everything the dog ate will be at your inspection . |

Most rodent poisons contain some thinning agent like warfarin, but there's some that have other active ingredients. Thinners are a cumulative thing, as time goes on, they accumulate and become more effective, but in humans, our body mass and kidney chemistry are able to filter them out to make a managable level. Feline kidneys are much, much more susceptible to toxins, and their body mass and lipid makeup is entirely different, so thinning agents will kill them swiftly when a certain level is reached. homemade gravity traps work really well if you're being overrun by rodents... deep steel garbage cans with trip-planks...
