Dodge try steinertractor.com as she is a Steiner. The video maybe is produced by farmtractorrepair.com and is advertising with the video.

Wrapping the insulator around the bearing is a nonstarter. Try nesting the paper in the bearing bore first, then work on pressing the bearing in.

DO NOT   adjust  timing on your hand crank tractor the way she tells you to move mag around , Static Time it.

Actually she’s a Gingell. She and her Dad did videos working for Steiner for a long time, but I saw no mention of Steiner on this latest video. Trivia that’s probably only interesting to me, but I started watching her videos when I started reviving my Dad’s B. Only after a few months did I realize that she is the daughter of the neighbor of my Aunt and Uncle and her grandpa owned the farm across the road from my grandpa. This is in rural eastern Michigan north of Detroit.

The only thing I would have added was some mention of what to do if the magnets are weak.

It's not a bad video if you want to familiarize yourself with your mag before you tear it apart. The harder parts, like removing stubborn seized screws and such, are glossed over. Show us how someone else pressed the parts out. Was the fire mark done on the compression or the exhaust stroke?

They’re still in business? I walked into that place 30+ years ago and they had some 25 year old NOS ham stuff. I bet they still have some of that.

Thanks. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. As an aside, my uncle and aunt are Howard and Pat Lilley.

Why Fred?? dont  trips to the ER to fix broken arms thrill you???Big smile

What Fred is saying is  this. If you hand crank your tractor it is imperative that the impulse trips at or slightly after TDC. If it trips prior it will kick back on you,, one day.  If the points are set correctly and you have the correct impulse coupling in your magneto the total timing will be correct when the impulse trips at TDC.

The ubiquitous "they" say you generally don't need to recharge the magnet of a magneto made after WWII. "They" also say you generally do more harm than good. The author of the site I've listed below claims you should never remove the armature of a magneto without first installing a keeper on the magnets. I have no opinion on the subject.
