Would it be possible to hook up hydraulic lines from a 175 to the PD on a 180 and then be able to pull start it? Just thinking out loud....

Hate to burn up a starter to see if it will run...nice thing about the mechanical power directors in the smaller tractors is you can always pull start them without a battery or with a bad starter. I have no idea if this one will even run. Previous owner tried belting it up from the pulley but evidently failed.

I may be wrong, but better to say something now than to wish to have later.  If I'm not mistaken the PD uses lower pressure oil and a 2000 PSI remote will probably blow the seals.  Like I said may be wrong but better to not try it and find out for sure than to cause more issues.

I would like to know whole story on him belting it up .How it failed. If the engine turns over belting it should work ,I have done that many times on tractors with belt pulleys.

With it belted and it dose turn over , he should be able to trouble shoot it as to why it dose not run. Was he using a side flat belt pulley mounted to torque tube housing ?

Porta-power to pressurize the power director? I know they use one to release the brakes on Gehl skidsteers.

The Power Director only gets 195 to205 psi hooking it up to 2000 psi would be a bad idea.

I bought the tractor a couple of years ago and didn't ask the seller for the details. I think he took the starter off to get it rebuilt, and for some reason didn't get it back. Someone was messing with the transmission, also...covers were off. I bought it as a parts tractor, but would like to see if I could get the engine to run...hopefully just a fuel problem. Sounds like the easiest would be to borrow a belt from someone and get it turning over that way.
