Looking at a 9755 Agco Allis FWA, Any one know the good and bad of them, And what engine do they run. According to tractordata.com, it's an Agco engine, but I'm not sure of the accuracy of that information. Thanks, Darrel

I think, if the number ends in a 5 it's a Detroit. If it ends in a o, it's deutz air cooled. Not 100% sure on that. The one your looking at should be a Detroit 530 cid

The engine is a 6cyl 530ci AGCO ALLIS 1300 series. Bryan you are correct on the "5" and "0" but that was for the "96" series. The "97" series is a different tractor.

The 9700 series had the Detroit in them ie 9755 ,65,75,85. Some of the very last ones Cummins in them just like the DT225. I had a 9785 and it was a great tractor, they have the 18 speed powershift in them. They also had taken the jump out ,between 9th and 10th gear like the 9600 series had in them. It has the same cab as the DT series. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another one.

ILGLEANER, do you think that the 9755 would pull as much as an 8070 FWA? I know it is rated 15 less HP than the 7580, but that doesn't always mean everything. Thanks, Darrel

Speaking of the 305 I have it and a 9690 fwa and the 9690 will outpull the repowered 4w305 in mud. I was pulling a 30 foot Great Plains no-till drill and was having a little trouble getting though some wet holes with the 9690 so I hooked the drill to the 4w305 thinking it would pull better though the wet spots. Well It would not pull as well as the 9690 so I had to hook it back to the 9690. I do have deep lug radials on the 9690 and I'm sure that helped. Now on dry ground the 4w305 will outpull.
Darrell, don't let the Deutz engine scare you away from a 9670 or 9690 if you run upon one.
