My 45 broke the nose on the starter about 6 months ago. yesterday it broke again. is something going on that I am not catching?

is there maybe a shim that is missing. the only thing I can think is that the starter is not alligned correctly and is binding, causing it to break. is the starter maybe staying engaged?

Check your engine timing because if it is off it can cause this problem. I know cause it happened to me last year. Starter repair took one and told me to recheck timing.
