i'm working on replacing some old panels on a 180 and a d-15.  I'm thinking the anchoring bolts are  going to be either 7/16x18 or 3/8x16, but my shop manual doesn't provide such detail.  As farmers in a rush tended to do they would replace only enough bolts to hold it on.  Over time, the empty holes filled with dirt and grime, rust and whatever else would fit.  Rather than randomly poke around with tapping dies and guess is there a better way.  Right now i'm on the access panel for the 180 brakes.  I'm thinking 3/8x16 but not sure.  the occasional 1/4 inch hole or stud is easy enough, but just wondering if there is a faster way to go about it.  trying not to ram7/16 holes with a 3/8 die
