Hello new to the fourm.... I need alittle help... just bought my 190.. had been sitting many years... got it running n driving my problem is if I select high or low it will I guess lock up but as soon as I release the lever it returns to the neutral position and slips... now I can select any gear in high or low hold the range selector while moving and apply the brakes to apply a load and will pull the engine down... but as soon as I release the selector lever it returns to the neutral position n begins to slip.. any thought? I have a book coming just haven't got it yet.. any help would be appreciated..thanks ryan

Your PD handle comes up to lock lever in place?

Thanks 4 reply..when I put the pd in high or low it dosent stay it returns to center is there a lock to hold the lever in high or low? Sorry my first allis with no book yet... thanks

It should have a slot for High and Low. Neutral is in the middle.

On the One Ninety, the power director lever not only moved forward into high and backward into low, but it also moved up and down a short distance which kept it locked into place. The lever on your tractor has apparently seized. Spray a little penetrating oil on it and try to work that movement loose.

When at the foward and aft ends of the slot the lever should pop up to lock it in place. Once it locked inplace you have to push it down to move it. You power director lever is probably rusted! And dosent slide up and down.

Congratulations on purchasing one of the best tractors AC built in my opinion. I spray some Kroil on mine from time to time just to keep it moving freely. It should pop up when it gets to neutral. If you want to shift from Lo to High just push downward and move it forward while continuing to get pressure downward. Takes only a few shifts to get a good understanding of how it works. Enjoy the 301 turbo engine, they are very powerful and very reliable. Is yours a slope fender or flat fender tractor?

Well since I've got all u knowledgable guys helping me... hopefully last question... so tractor sat many years so I drained fuel tank cleaned fuel bowl, installed new fuel filter cracked line loose at the pump n used hand primer till I had fuel at pump, tightened it up would ran for 10 seconds n die I hand prime again same thing n dies.. took line off at pump n have fuel gravity running out... my hand primer seals r bad so I thought it could be sucking air so I bypassed it no luck... so I put electric fuel pump before and after the ff and wont run figured not enough flow... so I took a fuel pump off a detroit diesel series 60 that I use to prime engines with hooked it in b4 the ff.. sucking from tractors fuel supply I hook my cordless drill on it with a zip tie on trigger running drill at a slow speed tractor runs great.. i drove it around no issues... so is the fuel transfer pump part of my injection pump bad? Is there an electric pump to correct this issue? Or am I pulling injection pump off n sending it out? Thanks for the help,!!!!!!

I have seen a handful of old 190's that I had to deepen the notches for Hi-Low to get the lever to fully lock in place. This is inside the console and was due to wear on the linkage.

After sitting for long periods of time, the injection pump will need to be serviced properly to make it usable. Run it around and make sure everything works before spending the time and money on the pump.

Ya that's why I was trying to figure out my high low problem b4 I started putting money into injection pump... which high low should be solved tonight so on to my fuel issue.... then new rear rims... dam calcium!!!
