I got a off qeustion for the guys I have a styled wc that has been all re fabricated for a huge stump grinder it runs terrible motor was froze and hurt by someone leaving water in it I put mendite solution in it and sealed up all the cracks to keep the antifreeze out but motor is really tired uses about a quart of oil a hour when grinding I have a good running wd engine But was wondering if i split the wc rear end if i could mount it the wd frint end ? The wc uses a homeade pivet arm to disconnect the engine and transmission shaft and then has a pump run off the belt pulley that is on a gear to move the tractor cery slowly with the hydraulics when im grinding with it The while rear end of the wc is welded up to support the grinder so i have to use that But from the frame rails where they mount to the rear end all the way to the front end looked the same and the wd gas perfect sheet metal and front tires and motor so i was pondering splitting and trying to make the wc reaeend work with the wd front end ------------- ~AMP~ |

It would be easier to just put the WD engine into the WC. Look at the difference from the bellhousing and back. You'll see why. |

Ok thanks i dont have a wd here to libe them up and look everything over I will swap motors and front ends too being that the wc has only 4 bolts holding it in and a very wore out narrow front end And the wd one is line new yet ------------- ~AMP~ |

I've got no knowledge to help with your repair, but I'm curious about your custum made stump grinder. Pictures would be appreciated. There are many "natural" engineer's talents displayed by these one-off machines. Jim |

The rails are not the same, I'd just use the engine and front steering gear off the WD in your WC. ------------- 3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep. |
