Part # 70235397 is $108 at AGCO. Mine sprung a leak in the rubber line area near the pump. It's the bypass line with a short piece of hose which is part of the line. Not the suction side with the hose and hose clamps. Should I just get a hydraulic hose made to replace the whole line? I hate to ugly it up but $108 is a bit high.

If it were me I think I'd suck it up and lay down the $108. Been a year since I went through mine so I'm not certain if that line sees system pressure or not? Seems to me it just returns oil to the tank under minimal pressures?

Cut out the old hose back to each tube and splice in a piece of hose with a couple good hose clamps. Only time oil goes thru it (if it's the bypass hose) if when you have the steering wheel cranked extreme right or left making the pump squeal.

If you have a shop that specializes in Hydrualics they can send it off and have the hose replaced on the existing tubes. I've had to do this with some special (dealer only) lines on Chevy trucks that Chevy no longer supplied. And if there is enough straight line after the tube you can put a compression fitting on it to make the new hose work on the old tubes, I've even cut the band that clamps the hose to the tube and put the compresson fittings on that area. Just a couple ideas. Stray
