yes they did make a digger.

I saw an A-C potato digger once at an auction.  I bid it up to $200 and still didn't get it.  Oh  well.............

I don't know about a tater digger, but I have an old horse drawn tater planter that has E.P. Allis stamped in it.

allis sold a rebadged opel industries potatoe digger. Gilbert Vust and his family used them. they had one working at the gathing of the orange in 2004 at portage manitoba i believe its still in the museum in portage
