You have a 5 bottom 80 series plow frame. That doesn't define the bottoms. They are documented and were sold separately from the bottoms with a dozen different bottoms (at least) for different soils and regions. To add complication most bottoms could have 6 to a dozen different lays, shares, shears, or blades (different names for the cutting edge) of different materials for different wear and survival in rocky soil.
The appropriated plow bottoms parts catalog can be downloaded from http://www.grandpastractor.com/phpBB3/index.php Landsides were supplied in a few variations that fit most all bottoms. You need to identify the bottom, by finding a part number on frog, shin, share, or moldboard and we or you can look it up to see what bottoms you have, then you can shop, but shopping will be frustrating. Few aftermarket parts are available, mostly for 375 and 387 bottoms and if an AGCO dealer has the parts they will be priced as if gold plated. You also need to know the plow bottom width, easily measured by center to center distance of the plow frame beams. The 80 frames were made in a couple sizes and one of the characteristics of the 80 frames were that they can be assembled for two different plow widths. The other hint of the 80 frame is the spring trip shank for each bottom. It may be most practical to find a share that is close and drill new holes in the frog and brace plate with a bit of grinding on the left edge to match the AC plow bottom share angle. Gerald J. |

A three bottom would be an model 83 if it has adjustable width (two bolts in the cross bars) and spring trip shanks. Operator's manuals came by the specific model and by the family. It would be a 73 if adjustable width and fixed shanks, and a 63 if fixed width and fixed shanks. A 53 would have vertical instead of slanted shanks. Hitches were also separate from frames as were coulters. To complicate matters, the parts book offers spring trip shanks separately to fit the 60 frames.
