There is a plow day this Sat**day at Collins Ia. I'll be there with the wide front 45. Just found out about this yesterday. They usually have flyers for it at the Mid Ia. Antique power show but that didn't happen this year.

They also pick ear corn at this event, not sure how that will work with all the wind damage this year. Should be a fun day.

Pictures from Sat**day's Picken and Plowin day.
For some reason I didn't get any plow pics on the camera. A few with the phone, but near impossible to get them on here for me.
I should mention we plowed about 80 acres, tough dirt! Worked the old 45 pretty good. Had a great time, as always at plow-day. I was the only AC in attendence, lots of Fords and Ollies. Red was well represented and plenty of JD. One gentleman was pulling 5-22's with a nice low-hour 4640. Nice rig, even if the wrong color green.

Nearly surprising that anyone still has an early 6000 that runs, let along a mounted cornpicker to go on it.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Looks like you had some great weather to do it Mike.  Must have been fun!
How difficult was it with all the downed corn?

Guys, I would have liked to spend more time watching the picking, and maybe taking a round or two. Great thing about this event, the hosts own most of those picking rigs and let everyone drive that wants to. Same with the plowing, they have plenty of tractors and plows. Of course I prefer my 45/3-16s.

Ted, the weather was good except for the WIND. Good grief I'm tired of wind. The corn they were picking was standing pretty good, they didn't seem to have a lot of trouble. Insurance 'zeroed' my corn. Didn't even hang the head on the combine, disced it all under.

Maybe because of the use of the word "t**d" (<---- maybe get a couple of **), as in poop, in the politics section, it's blurred out? System reading sat**day, perhaps? I'll be interested in seeing how my post turns out lol

I'm with you buddy, the wind hasn't stopped here for I don't know how long.  And I don't just mean a breeze, but at least a 15 mph and upward since.........sometime in the middle of September. Angry
