Could any of the Allis Chalmers gurus help me identify this motor? It powers a 10,000 psi hydroblast unit. I can't find any identifying numbers except the ones cast in the block, it looks as if some of the tags may have been removed, especially need to locate the serial number, any help is much appreciated, thank you. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. |

More specificly, It is a Model 3500 engine with 426 cu.in likely built between 1964 and mid 70's. On the left side at the rear of the block just below the head is the location of the ID plate. It is either missing or looks to be painted over. Serial number will be there.

The plate is above the starter and below the intake manifold.

Thanks guys! 210/220? is that the horsepower rating? If not what kind of horsepower did these generally produce? I see the cast boss above the starter where a plate had once been riveted, gone now though, sure seems strange they would make it that easy to just remove a serial number? This machine is in use repairing Navy ships and the government as part of their red tape/bureaucracy is requiring all this information be furnished to them... Btw, the engine still runs like a clock. |

Flywheel horsepower is likely in the 150-165 range.
