I needed several 8' 2x4's in a hurry last week and Menards was the closest. I expected to pay around $9.50/ stick, but they had come down to $ 4.27 Embarrassed . On top of that, I only needed to sort through 8 to get 5 "useable" ones instead of digging 30/10 WinkWink !!

That IS a decent price from HD, I will only step foot in our local HD as a VERY last resort- too expensive for everything, even before the pandemic Ouch .

$20 PLywood  a year ago... ( 1/2 inch CDX) was $72. in May... Bought it last month for $42.  Down to $32. today......... Wood futures are getting back toward normal the last week or so....NOw construction is starting to pick back up, so that might change demand again................plywood came from Brazil.

Just curios, why cdx and not OSB ? Construction never slowed down around the South Bend area, even during the "highest" part of the lumber prices.
