Hi l was wondering if I could get shoes for a old 4 row planter that dad had for our Wd45 The shoes are so wore out From years of uses . I don't know the number of the planter . I know it is adjustable for how wide you want to make it . I have a 2 row and a 4 row that are the same . Thanks Roger. It is a mounted Allis planter .

I also ordered
4 bushings #70322089 $1.50 per
4 ring gears #70327599 $6.00 per
4 pinion gears #70301259 $16.00 per
2 runners #70317437 $45.00 per
2 runners #70317437 $67.60 per
So I'll have a rebuilt planter for $320.00. That don't sound to bad.

This will have all the wear parts replaced and should work like new!

I got the new runners today and compared them to the old ones.

I sat the old runner on top of the new one.

About an inch wear.

New ones are about 4" wide.
Thanks & God Bless

3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

Wow. They still sell new parts forthis ! Unreal . If I took pictures of mine they would make the old ones in the pictures look like new. In don't tink there is more then a inch left to them . So the other part that is shot on mine is where the fertilizer tubes and what ever was inside of there is shot . Years ago we had found 4 brand new fertilizer boxes for it they were never put back on it . Because the bottom was rusted out . What I'd like to do is set this up for 3pt and set it up just for beans . If I could find a nother planter and take two 4 rows and make a 8 row 3 pt move the row units around so there 10"s apart . And have a 8 row 10" 3pt bean planter for my 190xt and set the markers with cylinders to lift them . I think it would be a very cheap low maintenance planter ! Thoughts ?,

Will do, I got new ones mainly to see how much wear there was on the old ones. Since I’ve never seen a new planter with runners I had no idea what new ones look like. I figured since the teeth on the gears were about worn off the runners were probably worn as well.
Thanks & God Bless

If yours is like mine there was no model number. It was just simply called “Rear Mounted Drill Planter”.

Yep its the same thing as the one in the picture . If you could take a couple more pictures of it and post that would be awesome . if you could stand behind it and take a picture of the whole planter and one of where the row units mount to the frame of the planter and one of where the wheel slide on the shaft . That would be great if you could do that . Thanks Much Roger

Thank you very much for the pictures and the 3pt lay out. It doesn't by chance show how they set up the pick up chains for the makers with a 3 pt hitch . I didn't know. How much it could be adjusted in . It would make a very nice 3pt bean planter even if it was a 6 row . But thank you very much . I got a 4 row that was Dads and a 2row that he got on auction . But I hate to cut it up . But thanks much Roger

With this picture I've posted all the info about the 3 point that's in the manual I have. It does not show any chains for the marker lift.

Sorry Roger, I was thinking you want pictures of the 3 point marker lift system. Here are a few good pictures of the snap-coupler marker lift system. I had to get some #32 flat chain for the marker lift and boy was that pricey. I guess flat chain is not very popular today. No one has it in stock.

Thanks Dennis All the pictures were great . The shots of the markers were great I was trying to figure out how they did it on the 3pt now I see it. I know that lift chain is hard to find . I used this planter years ago . And I want put some thing together to use on my 190 . I know with enough parts I can make something work . I got to find that book . I'm sure my dad had a book for it . I need to see what the back of the shoe looks like where the tubes from the fertilizer boxes hooked up . It must be a side dress planter . I know you can change the rate by changing the chain on the gears . If its a side dress it would use a lot less fertilizer then the other style planters that puts it away from the row . Anyway this is a project too work on. I got a 6 row 400 cyclo planter . But I got to get out and hit it . Thank you for all your time posting the photos . Roger in Grantsburg Wisconsin

Yes, but it will be posted late fall early winter. The video will cover how row crop farming was done in the 1950's. It will include every part of row cropping from breaking ground to harvest.
I hoped to have the markers working but the parts haven't arrived yet. Didn't think that would have taken so long.
Hope you can wait that long, LOL.

Those pictures look good . I remember riding on the fender of the 45 with dad when he was planting . You must be waiting for the marker brackets for your planter . I know the ones on the planter here had been broke a bunch of times and they were welded up . Can you get them new ? Boy I would be very surprised if you could . But I like your pictures . A buddy of mine has a Set of wheel weights like those for sale . . Have a great day .
