impulse coupler is broke. it has a fairbanks mag on it. this guys more clueless than I am! lol... I'm hoping to scavenger some parts off of one of my mags and see how it goes. sure is a beast to crank over.

X2 on the hand cranking. You soon learn what it takes to make it start easily or will be using chain or looking for a starter set up. On our A with a C6 it likes once over compression on full choke, then unchoke and starts on pull 3-4,,, unless a crowd is watching.

i agree with the crowd watching part.. i currently had my bosses 1937 john deere a at a local show and before the show it started first compression crank every time but when i was cranking it and there was people watching me do it it just wouldn't start then i left it for about 10 min or so and nobody was around. i went to start it and first crank.. pop it started..Cry

Nice tractor!!  Looks like a '28 to me. Still has the earlier oil pump and oil delivery pipes.
