    Posted: 12 Jul 2020 at 5:22pm
Some pictures from my 1st attempt doing round bales.  Eighteen 1250 lbs 4x4 bales and two odd shaped mushroom looking bales.  The 6080 handled it perfectly.  I put the duals on for extra weight.

Allis 6080 and New Holland BR7070 baler.

If that is your first round baling it looks good.  There is a lot to learn about baling different hay and conditions.

An Allis pulling a New Holland hay tool perfect combo.

Do you have the bale command monitor?

First year for us pulling RB 450 behind a 8030.

You know, I think this is the first 6000 series that I have ever seen all dualed up. She looks mean with the 7000 hoods, weights, and sloped out grill in front of the 8000 series cab. Beautiful country.

Unit, I have duals for Dad's 6080. He had them on every spring and fall. I don't think I have any pics of it with them on though. If I had spare time coming out my ears I'd put 'em on and take a pic, don't hold your breathe! Dad planted corn with the 6080 and liked having the duals on. I have adopted the 185 which I have no duals for and see no real reason for them for planting. When field cultivating I could use them.

Beautiful country out there!

Beautiful pictures and nice set up! Gotta ask. . . .are you sure those bales weigh 1250? That seems a LOT for a 4x4. Just curious.

I agree weighed some stout 4x4.5 and only weighed 800-825.

Yessir victory, that's a very realistic and reasonable number. I realize balers vary, that's why I asked, but that seems a lot!

I think that Baler makes up to 6ft dia bale giving it that weight. My 4x5 Vermeer never has made dry hay as heavy as the book shows. I havenโ€™t ran a NH Baler, maybe they are little heavier??

And my Gehl never made them as heavy as the book said.

There's over twice the hay in a 6 foot diameter bales as a 4 foot, given the same length out of the same baler!

I was off on the bale weight. The bales averaged out at 780 lbs. I took a guess based on the setting size I set it from the manual.

Yeah.....sorry for sounding critical and the tangent it caused    I was curious, and would have been very surprised, would have been some very tightly packed hay!
