I POSTED A WHILE BACK FOR HELP WITH LOW PRESSURE PROBLEM WITH THE POWER DIRECTOR ON A 200 ALLIS. THE INSIDE OF THE TRACTOR HAS BEEN GONE THROUGH TWICE AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG INSIDE, THAT I CAN SEE. I ADJUSTED THE PUMP PRESSURE UP TO GET 1900PSI ON TURN AT STOP. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE NEUTRAL PRESSURE IS 500LB PSI WHICH IS SOME HIGHER THAN MANUAL CALLS FOR. THE PRESSURE READING AT THE P/D VALVE IS READING 250 PSI. IT IS SHIMMED TO THE POINT THAT 1 MORE SHIMM PHYSCIALY JAMS IT AND CAUSES BACK PRESSURE LOCKING THE STEERING. COULD THE SPRING IN THE PRESSURE VALVE HAVE LOST IT'S TENSION? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS?

Neutral should be 50 lbs, and stay around there at 1600 rpms,

Where did you adjust pressure to 1900 PSI? Where did you adjust pressure to where it locks steering? Sounds like you do need some help. MACK

DOUG, AC SHOP MANUAL CALLS FOR 295PSI WITHOUT PTO CLUTCH AND POWER STEERING IN NEUTRAL. MACK, 1900 PSI WAS SET BY ADJUSTING RELIEF VALVE ON REAR OF HYDRAULIC PUMP AND CHECKED AT THE PRIMARY OUTLET ON THE PUMP. THIS IS SERIAL NUMBER ABOVE 200-4001. I AM TRYING TO RAISE OPERATING PRESSURE ON THE POWER DIRECTOR CLUTCH TO 285-300PSI. TO RAISE PRESSURE ON THE P/D YOU ADD SHIMMS BETWEEN THE CAP AND SPRING OF THE PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE ON THE P/D VALVE. I HAVE SHIMMED THAT TO GET 250PSI BUT WHEN I ADD ANOTHER SHIMM IT OVER PRESSURES AND THE POWER STEERING PRACTICALLY LOCKS. I HAVE MEASURED SPRING COLLASPED LENGTH, STEM LENGTH AND CAP DEPTH AND I BELIEVE THAT THE RELIEF IS JAMMED WITH THE ADDITION OF ANOTHER SHIMM. THAT'S THE REASON I BELIEVE THE SPRING HAS LOST TENSION OR THERE IS SOME OTHER PROBLEM THAT I CANNOT SEE. AM I OVERTHINKING THIS? THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE I KNOW TO ASK THESE TYPE OF QUESTIONS. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER. MIKE

If you are checking pressure at two plugs on PD valve, what is pressure in hi and lo? MACK

We had a similar issue it was an oil dump in the hyd pto - we put compressed air to the line going to the brake and clutch and there was no resistance - the brake and clutch seals were shot - fixed the pto and fixed the issue. We also found there are 2 types of pto clutches , one with wave springs one with out.

So, I think a quick easy test would be to disconnect the two lines going to the PTO clutch box and cap them off and re-try your pressures.

This tractor is a manual PTO instead of hydraulic shift.
