Looking into picking up a 7040 with a bad engine, apparently was on manure pump and rings went... I'm thinking more to the story but doesn't matter.
Just wondering what engine overhaul kits are best? Haven't looked into anything yet, but is agco best?

AGCO would be the best but don't think they are available anymore.  79017720 is the p/n.  Shows a price but would have to be at work to check availability. My guess is backordered like everything else Cry

The number I quoted earlier was a full overhaul kit. Included valves and such. A block kit which is the same minus stuff for the head is available. P/n:79015492 is available. Little over three grand

I've used Don's Diesel for a kit on a 7060 and 7000. Only a couple of hundred hours on them both but was pleased with the kit and performance so far.
