have a jd 4230 diesel with roosa master return fuel line with rubber boot which is held in place by round o clamp with two legs. very tight clearance to work in. a radiator hose clamp plier does not really work that well as it opens one has to also push down to center over double ribs.  if anyone knows what tool is, what part number and where to buy it would be greatly appreciated. local deere dealership is no help.

Go to MicroMark.com, and look for a "spiking" pliers. I find these to be very useful, on these type of hose holders.

if you have any of the snap ring pliers with the removable/interchangeable tips you can remove the tips and put the clamp ends into the slot.use the corresponding inside or out side type to match the direction you need for the clamp.

We have a JD 4230 too and I made my own tool.   What I did was took a set of Sears Craftsman pliers and put them in the vice and drilled a hole through the end of them using a bit slightly larger than the diameter of the wire the o clamp is made of.  The end result looks very much like the picture on the left that Micheal posted, except that the hole is round.  I keep those pliers and a handful of those rubber boots and o clamps in the tool box of that tractor.  Nothing like having one  or more of those rubber boots bust loose  and start spraying diesel fuel everywhere when you are working on the back 40 of a farm miles from home.
