Hey guys, I'm looking at a truck, it has a m11 in it. Truck has 600,000 miles on it, sounds like it runs great, no leaks. Anyone had many good or bad experiences with this motor? I'm just wanting the truck for pulling our gooseneck flatbed trailer. Thanks

well, they used to one of the prefered motors for local deliveries and some were even used in heavy haul, but light in the grunt. will do what you want probably quite well. I would look at the maintenance records if available and for sure do an oil analyse and also the water and if everything checks out alright and it sounds good and runs good and the price is right it'll do the job. should get decent fuel mileage also.    Leon

Like others have said, you should like the 11L displacement size. I have a 1995 detroit 11.1L 60 series, 10 speed, in one of my trucks. It has two hp ratings - 330hp without using cruise control & 365hp with using cruise control. It averages 6.5-9mpg loaded & about 11mpg bobtail. It & its trailer averages a gross combined weight of 30-35,000 lbs.
