With 5 kids and living on a Dairy Farm my wife was busy and always cooking. One day she made cinnamon rolls and when I came in from milking she offered me one.I noticed that only one was missing and the kids were not eating any which I thought was unusual, so I picked one to eat. Boy did I get a surprise! Linda being busy had grabbed the Cayenne Pepper instead of Cinnamon as they were in similar containers. And that is why the Kids didn't eat most of the Cinnamon rolls before Dad got in!

I like the orange ones too, never tried making them other than whomping them out of the can.  As for mixing up ingredients, one time deer hunting I made pancakes with baking soda instead of baking powder.  Just as we were getting ready to eat a neighbor showed up so I went out and chatted with him for a while.  Came back in the camper, kids had cleaned up their stuff and my pancakes were still on my plate.  I added syrup and when I took the first bite the giggling began then continued to full blown laughter.  I said I didn't think one could even add sugar to make them taste good and the kids assured me I was right because they tried.

Where have you been??? I can remember having them for breakfast in the 60s.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

We have a bar/restaurant here that Buck & Dee owned called the Nutbush City Limits.  Dee made HUGE ones every morning and they were out of this world!!  And cheap.  Sadly she and Buck have passed on and you can no longer enjoy this delicacy.

Curiosity question.  Is your best guess the icing color is closer to Persian Orange #1 or #2?
Had to ask...

Bakery used to make them every day. Not so now, only once in a while. I also liked the orange filled cookies. Can't find them anymore
