Yesterday we took our corgi/beagle mix, Sam, for his last car ride!  He was 14.5 years old and not eating.  You could tell he was trying, but just could not move well anymore.
This picture was when we had had him for 5 days in May of 2005!  He's sitting on Grandpas 1950 WD in my back yard in Omaha.

Prayers for your family from ours, it's a heartbreaking thing to have to do, but also the most love you can give them, to give them peace and no longer in pain

Sorry for things. When the little Jack Russell goes it will be as sad as your day. Keep your chin up.

Well,,,Greg,,,I feel for you,,,I really do,,!   feel your pain and longing for your missing buddy, companion, friend,,,they are everything a man would want, aren't they,,??

I worry bout our Great Dane, Hungry,,,he is more years than I want to try and total up and he has slowed down so much these past 3- 4 months and I don't think he's gonna make it past this winter. I got him a big dog house a few years ago, with insulation and carpeted walls and floor and a 100 amp light bulb in there, so he did OK last year and hope he can make another one at least,,,,Clap

i'm sorry to hear about your buddy! i'm sure you had a great life together! you'll be sad for awhile then the yearning for another buddy will come along. please consider a new buddy from a shelter! they all need love too, and i'm sure you are the one to give it. you don't and shouldn't forget your lost one(s). they were special to you all the time you were together!

Not a sadder day than losing a dear friend as these. Been down that road four dogs and five cats, still have a fourteen year old Dachsy in the house where when he is gone he is the last, heart cannot take the emotional loss anymore.

Told my wife when we put the last dog down that was enough, we have two grandchildren in Florida, so when she wanted to go see them we could just go and not have to worry about someone to feed a dog while we were gone.
sorry to hear about your loss, they are family

Sorry to hear about your loss. They are loyal companions and a member of the family and it really hurts to lose one.

I thought at first that I would not reply to this post because it fogged me up and brought back memories of having to do that.  Guess it is the cycle of life, but damn that sure is a bump in the road.

Sorry for your loss.
